The event business may be more challenging than ever before, but for PROSKE group that just adds to the attraction.
In times of economic crisis the event agency from Rosenheim just keeps on growing.
Following the record year of 2008, Managing Director René Proske sees the promising trend of the current financial year as proof that his agency is right on track.
Innovations such as the new incoming subsidiary myDMC Munich will guarantee the company's long term success and ensure that business is growing.
For PROSKE group there is no hint of a crisis. Rather, the event agency is extremely busy, and was recently involved in five events simultaneously worldwide: in the USA, Costa Rica, Kenya, South Corea and Singapore.
After all, corporate events that span the globe have been part and parcel of the Rosenheim based company day-to-day business for over 20 years now.
And they range from small-scale, exclusive management meetings and classic incentives to huge congresses attended by several thousand participants. In the current financial year the Bavarian company's head office was prepared to face a drop in orders since the economic situation constrains many international corporate businesses to make drastic cuts in their event budgets.
None of this has hit PROSKE group. "The mid-year results are better than last year's," says Managing Director René Proske when asked about the current figures, "and already at this point we see our total revenue for 2009 considerably higher than in 2008."
"Our clients include major global corporate players who expect perfect service. So to ensure everything runs smoothly we always have our own staff on site at each and every event, rather than hiring local freelancers," continues René Proske.
This means staffing up with highly qualified event experts and adding more office space.
In economically difficult times the lead period for meetings and events is getting shorter and shorter. Orders placed at near-term and spontaneous changes really put an agency's proficiency to the test and reveal true quality.
"In this respect," explains René Proske, "the fact that we are family-owned and -run is a great advantage. Communication lines and decisionmaking processes are short."
In addition, the wealth of experience organizing congresses and meetings with 10 to 30.000 participants in over 50 countries puts PROSKE group on very solid ground.
The agency's success story began back in 1986 when Hugo Proske founded the company, specializing in group travel and events. Very fast the young business established itself particularly in the pharmaceutics and medical engineering industries.
Bernd Proske spearheaded the next generation, before his son René joined the management in 2002.
Proske has since added another string to its bow: big-name clients such as Coca-Cola, Swisscom, UBS or the Italian state broadcaster RAI commissioned PROSKE group with the creation of large-scale hospitality programs at events such as the football World Cup in Germany in 2006 or the European Football Championships in 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
In 2008 the subsidiary myDMC Munich was founded. The destination management company specializes in cost-effective arrangements in Munich and Upper Bavaria.
With its excellent infrastructure and countless highlights for tourists, Munich is an ideal base for events and festivals of every kind, be they traditionally Bavarian or extravagant and international.
