Additional Event organisations join the British Business Visits & Events Partnership

BVEPIn recognition of the importance of presenting a cohesive voice on key industry issues, additional trade and professional Event Associations are joining the Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP).

These include:

The Events Industry Forum comprises trade associations primarily in the outdoor cultural, sporting, music and festivals events and is currently focussed on  developing updated Event Health & Safety guidelines, initiating an All Party Parliamentary Group for the Events Sector and evidencing concerns about the pressure on equipment resources for outdoor events as a result of the 2012 Olympics.

Site Global represents corporate executives, incentive companies, destination management companies, travel & event planners, and is part of a global network of meetings and event professionals dedicated to delivering business results.

The organisation was at the forefront of the "Keep America Meeting" campaign the impact of which had implications for events in the UK. The potential of increased incentive travel, brought about by the London Olympics, is likely to be a sizable opportunity for Britain.

The International Special Events Society represents special event planners and service and technical suppliers to festivals, events and trade shows and numbers over 300 members in the UK.

Current concerns include raising the low thresholds on business entertainment allowances and campaigning to promote the motivational and business value of live event based gatherings of staff, consumers and public particularly in challenging economic times.

Michael Hirst, Chairman of The Partnership said, "At a time when all sectors of the visitor economy need to work more closely together to optimise strategies and policies that will improve business prospects, it is gratifying that so many Event Industry representative bodies are recognising the need for collective action in order to create a more effective voice to Government".
