Confirming its place as Asia’s newest premier location, Marina Bay Sands has sealed events from industries including engineering, legal, property, consumer lifestyle, textile, life sciences, machinery, manufacturing and renewable energy.
These events will be organized by established organizers and new players. Each exhibition will bring between 3,000 and 25,000 attendees to Marina Bay Sands.

In May 2010, top lawyers will congregate at Marina Bay Sands for an annual conference organized by the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA). With the theme of “Climate Change”, the IPBA 2010 conference counts former U.S. Vice President and environment champion Al Gore as its keynote speaker. The conference was last held in Singapore in 1994.
Other returning events that have chosen Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre include the 2010 UFI Congress which will come back to Singapore after a 15-year absence.
“This speaks volumes about the ability of Marina Bay Sands to attract established marquee trade events and to expand the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions (MICE) market for Singapore by attracting new shows,” said Mr. Arthur Chernov, Vice President for Sales, Marina Bay Sands.
New shows that will debut at Marina Bay Sands include the Industrial Fabrics Association International Expo Asia 2011 trade show, the first major textile event catered for the Asian audience.

Other firsts include the Art Stage Singapore 2011 and 2012; Dye+Chem Asia International Expo 2010 and 2012; Sound Light Visual (SLV) Expo 2010; Offshore Asia 2011; as well as the IEEE P802, an engineering conference that will take place in 2011.

The team behind Sands Expo and Convention Centre is expanding and working on more than 100 additional prospects for meetings, incentives and conventions over the next four years, from industries including medical, pharmaceutical, finance, IT, telecoms and logistics. There are over 50 prospects for exhibitions in the next 2 years from industries such as security, life sciences, medical, IT, media, communications and luxury consumer goods.
To enhance the team, Marina Bay Sands has added Mr. Chernov to the company’s strong sales force. Mr. Chernov has more than two decades of experience in hospitality sales and marketing. He was most recently Vice President of Sales and Marketing of PGA National Resort in Florida.
Before that, Mr. Chernov was Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Turnberry Isle Resort and Club and the Rafael Hotels, where he established the highest occupancy rates and highest average room rate in the region. He held the same title at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino and Resort, where he built strong advance bookings.
